Position Summary:

The position is located within Learning and Talent Development (LTD) in the UW-Madison Office of Human Resources, and reports to the Conference Program Lead within Learning and Talent Development.

This position provides overall support and coordination for professional development conferences at UW-Madison and acts as a resource for LTD staff in the planning and implementation of new and emerging campus learning events for University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty and staff. The person in this position must be well organized and to manage detail work accurately within established timeframes.

UW-Madison has over 35,000 faculty and staff located in 32 colleges, school, and divisions. Employees' functions span most occupational areas with backgrounds covering the full spectrum. This position is integral in supporting human resource programs that allow the university to attract, hire, and retain talent in all positions.

This position is located in the UW-Madison Office of Human Resources and by its nature and location, the incumbent is privy to confidential records, information and conversations that directly affect the employer- employee relationship referred to in s.111.81(15) Wis.Stats. and include campus-wide management activities and decisions that directly affect classified and unclassified staff. The incumbent must use discretion and judgment in managing and providing information regarding sensitive and confidential matters related to management policies, decisions, alternative courses of action and strategies that affect employees across campus, contract administration and labor relations, etc.

In achievement and prestige, the University of Wisconsin–Madison has long been recognized as one of America's great universities. In 1848, Nelson Dewey, Wisconsin’s first governor, signed the act that formally created the university, and its first class, with 17 students, met in a Madison school building on February 5, 1849.
