Department The Division of Undergraduate Studies seeks an Instructional Specialist to join a dedicated staff committed to providing high quality support services and promoting the success of a diverse population of undergraduate students. This is a full-time specialized faculty (non tenure-track) position. The successful candidate will be part of the Undergraduate Studies Leadership Team in the position of Assistant or Associate Dean, depending on qualifications and experience.

As Director of Community College Relations, this individual will lead University efforts to attract and retain well-prepared transfer students and to develop and maintain effective pathways for transfer students through strong links to the University’s feeder institutions. In addition, the position will have oversight of the student advising and data systems that support both native and transfer students, providing direction and support for projects focused on student transition, retention, progression and overall academic success. Some travel will be required as part of the Community College Relations duties.
Key Responsibilities include the following:
•Serving as the Articulation Officer for Florida State University.
•Working closely with the academic colleges and schools to ensure a seamless articulation of academic programs and services between the University and feeder institutions.
•Reviewing and helping to develop and implement policy that will maintain a supportive inter-institutional climate and provide effective pathways for transfer students.
•Supporting the development of high quality engagement and support services for transfer students enrolled at Florida State.
•Overseeing the academic mapping system to help ensure and support timely student progression and assist with preparation of prospective transfer students.
•Managing the computerized academic advising reports and ensuring accuracy of all Undergraduate Studies academic publications and websites.
•Leading demand analysis efforts to help track course offerings and ensure course availability.
•Working closely with computer system development personnel on all software that supports academic functions to ensure compliance with academic policies, procedures and needs.
•Providing direction and support for data analysis projects that support student outreach, transition, retention and engagement.
•Supervising director-level staff.Qualifications •Academic master's degree or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties.
•Minimum of three years of experience working at a college or university or a state higher education coordinating agency.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Proficiency in basic computer skills and data analysis and knowledge of student data systems.Preferred The ideal candidate will have a doctorate in a field relevant to the position responsibilities and will also have all or most of these qualifications:
•Experience working with academic support services at the university level or state higher education coordinating agency;
•Knowledge of State of Florida articulation policies and processes and the Florida College System
•Knowledge of best practices in student data analysis and support systems
