The Division of Hospital Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking a full-time hospitalist to join our faculty as a full-time Assistant Professor (WOT) or Associate Professor (WOT), on the Clinician-Educator track. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is a 12-month service period with an anticipated start date of December 2019.
The successful candidate will have duties at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington, School of Medicine. Our career hospitalists have diverse backgrounds and interests, and participate in a variety of quality improvement, patient safety, educational, and faculty development initiatives.
Main Campus Resident & Non-Resident Services (Seattle)
Our hospitalists attend on the General Medicine resident service for 7-day rotations. We provide direct supervision and bedside/didactic teaching of rotating residents and medical students. We also provide 24/7 in-house coverage for the General Medicine non-resident service (day shifts are 10 hours; night shifts are 14 hours), which also includes daytime supervision and teaching of rotating medical students and advanced practice fellows.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Applicants must have an MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) and US Board certification or US Board eligibility in Pediatrics. They must also have completed a two year Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or foreign equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
Applicants must also have a minimum of two years of fellowship training in pediatric hospital medicine, health services, and/or quality improvement research methodology, as well as research interests in neonatal hyperbilirubinemia and rebound hyperbilirubinemia.
