Assistant Director of Finance

Job description


Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Business Services, and in close collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Assistant Director of Finance is responsible for all financial operations, auditing, reporting, and analysis for the entire portfolio of auxiliaries which includes: food service, bookstore, Liacouras Center, vending, and pouring rights. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and four to five years of relevant experience. Demonstrated experience in financial reporting and analysis, and auditing. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Required Skills & Abilities:

*Must have a financial background and knowledge of good auditing practices.  *Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles preferred. 

* Ability to present business information in a manner easily understood by non-financial professionals.  

* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships and partnerships.

* Ability to complete projects on time and on budget, and report on status and progress.

* Ability to adhere to established policies and procedures.

* Strong strategic and project management skills.

* Ability to work with software packages in a Windows-based environment, including advanced Excel skills. Knowledge and use of: Banner Finance System, COGNOS Reporting System, KRONOS Time Collection software, CONCUR Travel and Expense Management software, and Taleo Employment System.

*Ability to visit sites on the Philadelphia metro campuses.

* Exceptional analytical skills.

* Excellent written and oral communication

* Solid analytical, decision making and problem solving skills.

* Solid interpersonal skills.

* Strong organizational and management abilities.
