Job Duties

East Carolina University College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full-time 12 month faculty position to teach graduate students in the Adult Gerontology Primary Care (AGPCNP), and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) specialties.

The College of Nursing research emphasis areas include broad areas. Teaching will include courses in the BSN to DNP Program (AGPCNP and FNP) and Post Masters DNP options, assisting with clinical evaluation (site visits), academic advising, and participating in DNP Projects. Fixed term or tenure track available to the title or rank of Instructor or higher.

Minimum Education/Experience

A valid non-restricted North Carolina registered nurse license is required
upon employment.

Master’s degree in Nursing required along with terminal degree (DNP, PhD, or related terminal degree). Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Three years of advanced practice clinical experience.

Approval to practice as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina upon employment.

National certification as an AGPCNP.
Scholarship activity, effective oral and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal skills to work with a diverse population of students.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse faculty and student body.

Experience Mentoring Students.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation

A valid non-restricted North Carolina registered nurse license is required upon employment.

Approval to practice as an Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina upon employment.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

PhD preferred for tenure track at the title/rank of Assistant Professor or higher. Candidates with a DNP may be considered for fixed term at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or higher.

Demonstrated experience, credentials, and scholarship in primary care (AGPCNP or FNP) or willingness to become Agri-certified.
Online teaching experience.
