Duties and ResponsibilitiesCITY COLLEGES OF CHICAGO - DISTRICT OFFICEASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, STUDENT FINANCIAL AID City Colleges of Chicago is looking for a Student Financial business partner to assist with providing effective, efficient student financial assistance to our student population. If you are a detail oriented Student Financial professional with a passion for providing services to students seeking degrees of economic value, consider joining the City Colleges of Chicago Finance team. This position supports the management and administration of student financial aid, veteran benefits, and student accounts operations by serving as the regulatory compliance monitoring lead for the District. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Interprets laws, rules, regulations and policies related to financial aid, veteran benefits, and student accounts to ensure consistent compliance with federal and state regulations. 
  • Establishes and administers a formalized compliance and education program for the Financial Aid Offices to address current and upcoming regulations with a strong focus on service excellence to students. 
  • Coordinates the compliance survey process (including IPEDS, FISAP, ISAC Budgets, Program Reviews, ICCB Surveys, IBHE Surveys, Annual Program Information Submissions to the VA) for the seven colleges, including requirement gathering, review of the data, and submission. 
  • Develops policies and procedures, process flows, and job aids for compliance-related functions, such as R2T4, reconciliation, and verification, and trains District and College staff on how to administer programs compliantly. 
  • Coordinates and performs periodic audits of student records and system processes to ensure that they are compliant with all applicable regulations. 
  • Assists in reviewing the Title IV eligibility of new and modified academic programs to ensure that students receive maximum financial aid eligibility within regulatory parameters. 
  • Ensures that mandatory consumer disclosures are up-to-date and meeting the regulatory requirements for disclosure. 
  • Supports system implementations to ensure that automated processes are compliant with all applicable regulations. 
  • Serves as a resource for management, faculty, staff, and students for the interpretation of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. 
  • Monitors Title IV and MAP Grant reconciliation and ensure that drawdowns through G5 are timely and compliant.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field plus 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in financial aid administration. Graduate degree is preferred. 
  • Previous supervisory experience in a Financial Aid Office. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and projects, mobilize efforts toward completion, and deliver with a high degree of quality on a consistent basis.Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, decision-making and administrative skills.Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization with proven experience in managing and directing a diverse work staff. 
  • Must be able to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must be self-directed and innovative, able to assess current operations in an effort to improve the future goals of the District.
