Requirements

The Multimedia Technologist is a member of the Georgetown University Law Center's Information Systems and Technology audiovisual and instructional technology groups. S/he works Monday through Friday from 1:30pm - 10:00pm, but remains flexible throughout the week based on staffing needs, and is willing to work overtime and weekends if needed. Interacting with VIP guests, including Senators, Congressmen and Judges, the incumbent has additional responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
  • Records and edits daily lectures for online courses, both synchronous and asynchronous using both lecture capture, streaming, and video conferencing software.
  • Provides support and training to instructors on best practices when creating video recordings in various environments.
  • Supports faculty and staff with video conferencing for classroom and non-classroom activities.
  • Works with software tools to edit or enhance media, assisting with curation and organization of media housed in lecture capture software.
  • Troubleshoots issues with Law Center classrooms related to classroom software or hardware, repairing when necessary.
  • Manages cloud storage and ticketing systems, tracking and answering help tickets.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years of video production and media encoding experience, preferably in an educational setting; Equivalent work experience can be substituted for a bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency in Windows and Mac environments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent level of customer service with faculty, staff and students
  • Working knowledge of safety equipment, including gloves and eye and ear protection
  • Ability to participate in set-ups lifting up to 75 pounds and working from ladders and scaffolding
  • Knowledge of Adobe suite is a plus
