Position:Medical Office Assistant Online Adjunct Faculty Department:Medical Office Assistant Starting Salary:$549 per Lecture Unit Preferred start date:07/08/2019 Description:Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is seeking adjunct instructors to teach in the Medical Office Assistant department online.

The Medical Office Assistant: Administrative degree and certificate program at Lake Tahoe Community College is designed to provide students with essential knowledge and skills to assume responsible administrative positions in medical offices. The core curriculum in the Medical Office Assistant: Administrative program focuses on the effective use of medical terminology and the mechanics of medical coding and billing procedures. Additional courses emphasize contemporary medical office technology skills such as effective computer files management, data entry, and word processing. Students will develop solid skills in bookkeeping/accounting, math, and oral communication as well as an in depth understanding and appreciation of ethical issues related to employment in a medical office.

Adjunct Instructors are categorized as part-time, contracted faculty teaching assigned courses on a quarter or annual basis. Part-time faculty positions do not exceed 67% of a full-time faculty member's load.

Representative Duties:
  • Teach assigned online courses in the Medical Office Assistant curriculum.
Qualifications:

REQUIRED:

Health Care Ancillaries or Health Information Technology

  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience;
  • Or any associate degree and six years of professional experience;
  • Or the equivalent.
