NYU School of Professional Studies is looking for an educator and thought leader who aspires to shape the next generation of marketing professionals. We need a marketing academic experienced in applying research to marketing practice and working directly within companies and institutions to solve business problems, or a reflective practitioner with extensive experience in marketing and an advanced educational background.
 

The Division of Programs in Business, within NYU’s School of Professional Studies offers six Master’s programs, along with a number of certificate programs and non-credit courses. These programs combine leading-edge theory with real-world experience to meet the educational needs of aspiring professionals and prepare them for the demands of the workplace. The Department of Integrated Marketing and Communications, brings together over 1200 students in two masters programs, which includes an M.S. in Integrated Marketing as well as a number of non-credit programs, which are offered onsite and online.

NYU’s M.S. in Integrated Marketing prepares students to apply the theoretical knowledge, analytical skills, and effective methodologies required to become leaders who can create and implement compelling marketing programs that positively impact the brand, drive profitability, and build a loyal and engaged base of customers. All courses have a marketing focus with a distinctive breadth and depth of topics in which students are immersed. The program provides a strong curricular foundation which is designed to help students anticipate and address the needs of the dynamic and evolving profession of marketing. Students can choose to specialize in one of three concentrations—digital marketing, brand management, or marketing analytics.

Job Description
This full-time faculty position will begin in Spring 2020. The position is a nine-month, non-tenured, one-year renewable faculty appointment. The rank of the position will be clinical assistant or clinical associate professor dependent on experience and qualifications. A successful candidate in the program will work closely with the Academic Director to develop and deliver impactful and engaging course work and co-curricular programs; to advance thought leadership through applied industry research; to build industry relationships and partnerships; to support in the growth and development of our adjunct faculty base; and to contribute collaboratively to the advancement of NYU, the school, and the division’s mission and strategy. Along with direct teaching responsibilities, candidates will be expected to act as an advocate for the program, assisting at orientation and information events, serving on committees, advising students, and building relationships and programs within NYU SPS and with other NYU schools.

Basic Qualifications
A PhD, or equivalent degree, in Marketing or a related discipline is preferred, with a minimum degree of MBA, M.S. or other related Master’s program, plus 8-10 years working experience. The ideal candidate will be able to lead in the creation of intellectual capital around topic areas directly relevant to marketing practitioners, which they can apply through classroom teaching, publication in business or academic journals, industry conferences and partnerships etc.


Experience and research in the areas of Digital Marketing, Marketing Analytics, Consumer Insight and Behavioral Economics, Strategic Marketing Planning, or Brand Development and Marketing Communications would be very desirable, as would be experience in curriculum, course, and program development.
