The Department of History in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in US Antebellum Southern history.  We welcome applicants working in all subfields.  Eligible candidates should be prepared to teach the US history survey as well as upper division and graduate courses in their area of specialization.  

Job Duties:

  • Teach graduate or undergraduate courses and hold regular office hours.  Supervise graduate assistant(s) if assigned. 
  • Maintain an active research agenda with regular publications.

Required Qualifications: 

Ph.D. in History, specializing in the early nineteenth-century; evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship.
