Description:

The Department of Medicine, University of Washington is recruiting a full-time (100% FTE) laboratory-based physician/investigator to join the Division of Cardiology. The job duties will entail an active research program as well as clinical activities. We seek an applicant whose research will complement existing institutional strengths in vascular and cardiac biology including cardiovascular genetics, cardiac myocyte biology, gene therapy, and genomics.

The successful applicant will have a strong publication and funding record, appropriate to rank.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the full-time faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding, Associate Professor without tenure due to funding or Full Professor level without tenure due to funding, commensurate with qualifications. This is a 12-month service period position. Laboratory space will be available at the South Lake Union campus of the University of Washington, along with a substantial start-up/transition package. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Anticipated start date is February 1, 2019.


Qualifications:

MD or foreign equivalent degree is required. Applicants will be board certified/eligible or equivalent in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent).

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
