The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine and Puget Sound VA Medical Center are recruiting a full-time Electrophysiologist to primarily be based at the VA Medical Center. The successful applicant will be appointed as full-time (100% FTE) faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (without tenure due to funding) commensurate with qualifications. This is a 12-month period position. UW is a national leader in the care of sudden cardiac death patients and device management and performs electrophysiology procedures across the spectrum of heart rhythm disorders. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build relationships at the VA Medical Center and take advantage of the outstanding opportunities for collaboration at the University of Washington.

University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Position will remain open until filled. Anticipated start date will be March 1, 2019.


The successful candidate should have clinical training in all aspects of electrophysiology. Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified in cardiovascular disease and electrophysiology (or foreign equivalent). Any U.S. citizen may apply. Non-citizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
