Description:

The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, School of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time faculty member at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level (without tenure due to funding, commensurate with qualifications) to serve as Head of the Section of Cardiology based at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). HMC is one of the major teaching hospitals at UW, providing critical safety net care for disadvantaged patients and is the only Level 1 trauma center in Washington. These are 12-month service period positions. The Cardiology Section at the HMC is a full service program with integrated UW Medicine and cardiovascular training programs. Duties of the position will include experienced and effective leadership with a strong commitment to patient care, medical education, and research, as well as the ability to take advantage of the outstanding opportunities for collaboration in clinical, translational and health services research. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2019.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases (or foreign equivalent). Successful candidates will have an academic track record with evidence of publications. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
