Description:

The Division of Cardiology, University of Washington Department of Medicine, School of Medicine is seeking a full time cardiac imaging specialist to join our academic section of cardiac imaging. This individual will primarily provide cardiac imaging services in the University of Washington (UW) Heart Institute to patients at UW Medical Center, the main teaching hospital and quaternary medical center in the UW Medicine system. Primary duties include performance and interpretation of advanced echocardiographic imaging examinations.

The successful applicant will be expected to use cardiac imaging modalities such a nuclear, CT and MRI.

The successful applicant will use advanced Doppler quantification, 3D, strain, hemodynamic stress testing, pre interventional TEE, ultrasound enhancing agents and imaging of mechanical circulatory support devices.

The successful applicant would be appointed to the full-time faculty at the University of Washington at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (without tenure due to funding). This position has an annual service period of 12 months (July 1 – June 30). Anticipated start date is February 1, 2020.University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), be board certified/eligible in cardiovascular diseases and echocardiography (or foreign equivalent) and must have attained Level III certification in echocardiography. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record in imaging research and publications, as well as strong teaching skills. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
