Description:

The Department of Laboratory Medicine, University of Washington, is recruiting a full-time, 12-month Assistant Professor without tenure on the Clinician-Teacher or Clinician-Scientist pathway. This position is open until filled. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The primary service responsibility will be to participate in the direction of the Department’s Molecular and Next Gen Microbiology Laboratory. Additional responsibilities include utilizing informatics and/or next-generation sequencing technology in a clinical setting; teaching residents, fellows, medical students, and medical technology students; and developing a suitable area of research or scholarship.


Qualifications:

Applicants must have an M.D., D.O., Ph.D. or foreign equivalent and be board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Pathology, in clinical microbiology by the American Board of Medical Microbiology, in genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics, or in infectious diseases by the American Boards of Internal Medicine or Pediatrics. Documented experience with molecular diagnostic test development and clinical interpretation of molecular diagnostic test results is required. Graduates of foreign medical schools must have completed the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), Step 3 or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
