Description:

The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time position (100% FTE) as a neurological surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Full Professor without tenure due to source of funding, commensurate with qualifications. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The applicant’s primary duties include participation in and expansion of established neurosurgical clinical programs in the congenital adult practice, minimally invasive practice and general neurological surgery. Duties include direct clinical care and teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students. The successful applicant will be expected to engage in academic pursuits and perform clinical or basic research, and to establish his/her own lab and/or clinical research consistent with their academic interests.

The anticipated start date for this position is 8/1/19. It is an annually renewed appointment (12 month service period).


Qualifications:

Applicants must have an MD/DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for a Washington State Medical License. Applicants being considered for Assistant Professor must be Board eligible at the time of starting their appointment or have completed an equivalent foreign training program. Applicants being considered at the Associate Professor and Full Professor ranks must be Board Certified in Neurosurgery. Specialization required in minimally invasive spine.

In order to be eligible for University Sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US,) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
