Assistant, Associate or full Professor in Ophthalmology Specializing in Glaucoma

The University of Washington is currently recruiting for a full-time physician specializing in glaucoma. This position will be based at Harborview Medical Center. This position is without tenure due to funding and is a 12-month service period appointment. Anticipated start date is late this year or early next year.
Responsibilities include clinical care, resident supervision and training including both medical and surgical training, and teaching of medical students.
Candidates will be expected to provide medical and surgical glaucoma care, including treatment of consult and emergency patients and surgery at the University of Washington affiliated sites of practice which include Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center and at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to scholarship in ophthalmology. A strong interest in academic ophthalmology including pursuing substantial teaching and scholarly research is required. Protected time for academic endeavors will be provided.
Candidates must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and have completed ophthalmology residency (or foreign equivalent) and one or more years of postgraduate training in medical and surgical management of glaucoma.
Applicants must be American Board of Ophthalmology-certified (or foreign equivalent) or Board eligible and eligible for licensure in the State of Washington.
This appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Qualified candidates of all levels of experience will be considered.
