Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon
Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington, in Seattle, have an outstanding opportunity for a full-time academic Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in lower limb deformity. Appointment will be made at the Assistant Professor level (without tenure due to funding), or at the Associate Professor level (without tenure due to funding) commensurate with experience. This position includes an academic appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine. The service period for this position is 12 months. Clinical responsibilities include oversight of the lower extremity deformity program, including limb reconstruction and limb lengthening, as well as care of patients with general pediatric orthopaedic needs and pediatric orthopaedic trauma. The anticipated start date for this position is Spring or Summer 2019.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have an MD degree (or foreign equivalent), be board certified (or board eligible) in Orthopaedic Surgery and have completed a fellowship (or foreign equivalent) in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. Determination of rank and clinical track will be based on the applicant’s credentials. Professorial duties include teaching and research. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
