Pediatric Psychologist - Acting Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor

The University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking a pediatric psychologist to provide outpatient consultation and therapy services to children and adolescents diagnosed with gastrointestinal conditions. The psychologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease, other chronic gastrointestinal and hepatic disorders, and functional gastrointestinal illnesses. It is anticipated that the psychologist will provide treatment services within multidisciplinary GI clinics at Seattle Children’s Hospital as well as in satellite medical clinics in the greater Seattle metropolitan area. Specific training and skills in pediatric chronic pain and adherence, as well as the application of cognitive behavioral therapy, biofeedback, and hypnotherapy interventions with children and adolescents are required. Opportunities for participating in research are available and encouraged.
The successful candidate will serve as an attending at Seattle Children’s Hospital and will work with partners in the Division of Gastroenterology to provide clinical care, consultation, training and service line leadership. Depending upon qualifications, this position will either be for Assistant Professor without tenure due to funding (WOT) (0113) or Acting Assistant Professor (0125).
Candidates for this position must be U.S. citizens and hold a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in Psychology and be Washington State license board eligible.
