Assistant Professor WOT

The Department of Radiology at the University of Washington (UW) is recruiting a full-time, without tenure faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor to join the Pediatric Radiology Division based at Seattle Children’s Hospital in Seattle, Washington.

Clinical responsibilities include patient care in nuclear medicine, PET/CT, as well as computed tomography, diagnostic radiology, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound. Participation in a general radiologic call pool. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, contribution to weekly interdepartmental clinical conferences, quality assurance and continuous process improvement, engagement in academic and research activities, and assigned administrative duties.

Seattle Children’s is a 320+-bed medical regional center; over 110,000 pediatric imaging examinations per year are performed across all modalities within the Hospital and associated outpatient clinics. Successful applicants will join twenty-two full and part-time faculty members in ongoing education of 4-5 fellows and 6-9 residents. The institution is committed to clinical and research excellence, and pediatric radiologists are encouraged and supported in clinical and basic research efforts. Ideal candidates must have an M.D. or foreign degree equivalent in the field, possess or be eligible for full medical licensure in Washington State, have completed an ACGME Pediatric Radiology fellowship and Nuclear Medicine fellowship, board certification (or eligibility) in pediatric radiology and nuclear medicine and have a demonstrated commitment for a career in academic radiology as documented through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional and national meetings. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
