Description:

The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle is recruiting for one full-time faculty member to serve as Clinical Director of Breast Imaging at the level of Assistant, Associate, or full Professor without tenure, commensurate with experience, to join an academic group comprised of 6 clinical and 1 research Breast Imaging faculty and 3 fellows with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2019. School of Medicine faculty members have an annual service period of 12 months (July1-June 30).

Responsibilities include direction of the breast imaging clinic operations, clinical coverage of the breast imaging service, instruction of medical students, residents and fellows, and pursuit of academic interests. The breast imaging section provides clinical coverage and teaching at three medical centers (UW Medical Center, Harborview Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance). Candidates will be expected to perform clinical work in all aspects of breast imaging.

Under the direction of Dr. Janie Lee, the section is closely integrated with clinical and research programs throughout the UW Medical Center, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, to provide the highest level of comprehensive care for breast disease. All UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications:

Candidates for this position must hold an M.D. degree, or foreign equivalent, and possess, or be eligible, for full medical licensure in Washington State. Candidates must have completed a breast imaging fellowship in an accredited program. Successful candidates will have demonstrated commitment to an academic career as documented through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional and national meetings. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
