Description:

The Division of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine requests applications and nominations for a full-time, 12-month service period, faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor without tenure due to funding. The salary and rank is commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Spring 2019.

The position will be an actively engaged vascular surgeon practicing the full spectrum of vascular surgery at Harborview Medical Center, and will take a full complement of system call covering University of Washington Medical Center and Northwest Hospital.

The Vascular Surgery practice at Harborview is diverse. The clinical responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Complex Open and Endovascular Aortic Procedures for Aneurysm, Dissection, Trauma, and Infection
  2. Vascular Trauma
  3. Dialysis Access
  4. Limb Preservation; both open and endovascular procedures
  5. Vascular Access
  6. Intra-operative Vascular Emergencies
  7. Carotid
  8. Other Aneurysmal Disease
  9. Amputation

In addition to clinical practice the position will participate in the education of surgical residents and medical students. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.


Qualifications:

Prospective candidates must have an MD (or foreign equivalent) and be board certified or board eligible (or foreign equivalent) in surgery.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
