Assistant Professor - Structural Engineering & Mechanics

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in teaching, research and service. In teaching, the candidate will contribute to the existing range of courses and will develop new courses that reflect their professional interests. In research, the candidate will develop new areas of strength for the department, and collaborate with colleagues within CEE and throughout the university.

This is a full-time, tenure track position, on a 9-month service period, with an anticipated start date of the 2020-21 academic year. The search is open to candidates with expertise in all areas of structural engineering, including but not limited to infrastructure response to natural and other hazards, new materials applications in structural engineering and their applications, advanced experimental techniques, advanced sensing technologies, and applications of data science in structural and infrastructure engineering.


Applicants must have earned a PhD, or foreign equivalent, in civil engineering or related discipline by the date of appointment.

Candidates are expected to include in their statements examples of past activities to enhance diversity and inclusion in STEM fields.
