Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Program Assistant, Jupiter, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Supervise volunteer greeters during daytime classes, special events and evening or weekend classes as needed each semester, to include being present before and after each class. Provide greeters with necessary class material.
  • Facilitate all classes including the set-up and breakdown of laptops and scanners and administer iPad evaluations each semester.
  • Ensure volunteers have a clear understanding of, and are in compliance with pertinent OLLI policies and procedures.
  • Schedule volunteer assignments for fall, winter, spring and summer semesters. Verify current membership status for all volunteers.
  • Work with Assistant Director to facilitate greeter orientation for fall and winter and annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Keep part-time coordinator abreast of all pertinent class information.
  • Ensure fliers are printed and fully stocked in all areas throughout the complex, i.e. lobby, bulletin board, information table, classrooms, and reception.
  • Coordinate explorer tickets program to include, preparation and reconciliation of all explorer tickets.
  • Communicate with appropriate Jupiter Campus staff regarding, A/C needs and coffee service each semester.
  • Maintain condition of the lobby book table, student lounge and green room to include maintaining stocked inventory of all water and coffee supplies.
  • Make announcements when needed.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of appropriate experience; or Associates degree from an accredited institution and four years of appropriate experience required.

Prior customer service experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Must also have excellent organizational and time management skills.

Salary:

$12.27 - $15.00 per hour
