Position Title:Ecological Protection Lab Research Software Engineer - Institutional Student Worker (Fall 2019) Campus Location:Dahlonega Job Close Date:10/06/2019 General Summary:

The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a student worker as a research software engineer in the Ecological Protection Lab. This position reports to the Lab Coordinator and is based around the entry, organization, and creation of a database for the lab's data. The Ecological Protection Lab is a program of the Environmental Leadership Center, which supports service, research, and teaching activities that promote leadership and stewardship in preserving and enhancing the environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

The student Responsibilities include:
• Data Entry

• Data Entry

• Data Organization

• Database Construction

• Data validation and error checking

• Investigating improved data collection methods

• Aiding in data collection

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Software
  • Understanding of database software and data conversion
  • Familiarity with computer language and database platforms
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Attention to detail
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker
