Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in education or related field. Experience with data gathering methodology and data input, and analysis. Experience with relational databases. Experience with descriptive statistics, SPSS and other statistical software. Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs. Ability to develop Web-based surveys.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) in education. Experience working in a Medical School environment. Exposure to undergraduate medical education and curriculum implementation. Experience with curriculum evaluation.

Brief Description of Duties: 
Under general guidance, the Project/Data Manager will be responsible for the coordination of all educational research activities within the School of Medicine.  The successful incumbent should have interpersonal/human relations, organizational, and problem-solving skills, ability to understand the data needs of users and produce reports, ability to meet deadlines and work productively in a collaborative environment, ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to interact constructively with faculty and members from different departments.

Project Management:

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Manages project budgets.
  • Manages intramural faculty grants programs.
Data Management:

  • Extract, manipulate, analyze, and report data to internal and external constituencies; manage data; prepare and maintain data files; verify data to ensure data integrity.
  • Provide support towards the programmatic evaluation of the LEARN curriculum, including conducting course evaluations, course reviews, periodic surveys, focus groups, etc.
  • Coordinate and enhance interprofessional curricular activities to promote collaborative practice and learning among SOM student learners.
  • Prepare and monitor relevant study IRB applications.
  • Develops and implements processes for linking and analyzing data (both qualitative and quantitative) from a variety of sources; applies statistical techniques to analyze trends.
  • Acquires, manipulates, develops, and maintains longitudinal data sets, verifying accuracy and consistency over time; writes documentation for programs and operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.  Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
