A post-doctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the Biomedical Engineering Department working with Professor Zhang. This position will support research in studying the integration of medical ultrasound imaging and robotics for diagnostics and il)lage-guided intervention. We are interested in to develop a novel robot-assisted platform that facilitates adaptive ultrasound imaging and improves clinical workflow.

This position will involve working with a team of world-class biomedical researchers especially in the field of medical robotics and imaging. The post-doctoral fellow will be expected to participate in preparing research articles, presenting research findings at conference meetings, and contributing to grants. Therefore, excellent writing and communication skills are important.

Applicants are expected to have an earned Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field. Prior working experience in medical robotics is required. Expertise with device prototyping, signal processing and data analysis with programming (like MATLAB) are essential.
