Job Summary:
The Department of Psychology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2020. This position seeks candidates who have experience using cutting edge data science tools in their own research. The ideal candidate will be able to translate that experience into undergraduate education and mentorship, training our students in those skills. The specific area within psychology is open. The candidate will find ways to help the department build interdisciplinary connections to STEM focused departments such as computer science, data science, and engineering. Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a subset of the following courses: Statistics, Research Design, Advanced Research Methods, and develop psychology courses in Advanced Statistics and/or Introductory Computer Programming for Psychology Majors, in addition to courses drawn from the candidate's area of expertise. The standard teaching load for this position is two 4-unit courses per semester with an additional third course every fourth semester (2-2-2-3 over two years). The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain an active research program, preferably one that engages undergraduate students. Our department embraces the values of open and reproducible science. Candidates will also be expected to engage in service to the department, college, and university.

Minimum Qualifications:

University teaching experience; evidence of a strong commitment to teaching; evidence of research and scholarship; a strong commitment to undergraduate research training; Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field, earned by August, 2020; experience and willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment; and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University.
