Job Title: Nursing Faculty, Primary Care Nursing (FNP), Master of Science in Nursing
POSITION SUMMARY: The Indiana Wesleyan University School of Nursing (SON) invites applications from doctorally prepared candidates for a full-time faculty position with primary teaching responsibilities within the Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner program. Well-qualified candidates will be certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) clinically experienced, and demonstrate a commitment to teaching and practice.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Dean, Division of Masters Nursing with supervision by the Assoociate Dean of Nurse Practitioner Programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Full-time teaching (21 credits) in the Division of Graduate Nursing, online with some onsite teaching possible.Assist to keep curricula current and evidence-based through knowledge of The Essentials of Master’s Education for Advanced Practice and the appropriate professional standards. Supervise and evaluate student progress to ensure a positive and favorable learning environment and facilitate student success.Engage in scholarly/professional development activities to maintain currency in the scholarship of the discipline. Maintain clinical practice, not to exceed 15 hours per week.Participate in service to the university, SON, and division by involvement on committees and councils, and attendance at graduations, as schedule.Additional responsibilities include mentoring and evaluation of students and adjunct faculty as needed.

Education: Earned doctorate preferred with advanced degree in nursing required (Masters or Doctorate required)
- Teaching and instructional strategies for the online and onsite classroom/environment.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.Knowledge of principles, methods, and current developments in the field of nursing, including the ability to document expertise in area(s) of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method.Ability to communicate and problem-solve professionally while maintaining confidentiality of vital information.
- Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and have evidence of five years of clinical practice. Faculty must maintain an active, unencumbered, RN license and appropriate certification in their state of residence.(Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky, (southern) Michigan, and (eastern) Illinois are desirable.Due to the distance nature of this position, remote accessibility is needed to accomplish duties and responsibilities of the position. Therefore, a stipend for a home office is provided to the employee.
