Position Summary:

This position serves as the senior fiscal and human resources administrative officer for Student Affairs, the comprehensive student services organization at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Student Affairs includes about 15 units, over 575 staff, and a total annual operating budget of about $120 million.

This position reports to the Chief of Staff for Student Affairs. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA) provides leadership and management support for all departments within Student Affairs and coordinates the development of the various services and programs offered. The VCSA also serves as an advocate for student needs across the University community and coordinates all responses for student emergencies.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business or related field OR Bachelor's degree (any discipline) with a Master's degree in business, higher education, public administration, or related field at the effective date of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business, management, higher education administration, or related field.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Required Qualifications:
--A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible leadership and administrative experience in budget management.
--Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
--Excellent interpersonal skills including a commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
--Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students, staff, administrators, and other members of the University.
--Proficiency in various software tools for financial management and budgeting.

Preferred Qualifications:
--Demonstrated leadership and management experience in budget and human resources administration in a higher education setting.
--At least two years supervisory experience.
