The Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia, at Augusta University, is actively seeking a full-time board eligible/board certified Neonatologist. Academic rank will be commensurate with the education and qualifications of the selected candidate.
Augusta University’s Division of Neonatology treats patients in a 41-bed, Level IV unit that operates near constant capacity as a part of the Children’s Hospital of Georgia at Augusta University. AU is one of six regional perinatal centers funded by the State and maintains an active ECMO and neonatal transport programs.
The Neonatology Division is responsible for educating the next generation of health care providers in all aspects of newborn care and houses an ACGME-approved neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship program. As a regional referral center, the Division is supported by active clinical programs in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Pediatric Surgery [to name a few] and participates in outreach education of constituent hospitals. The NICU is home to one of two ECMO centers in Georgia and has been recognized as a Center of Excellence in ECMO since 2006. Additionally, it is one of only two Level IV NICUs in the State. The Division strives to advance neonatal medical treatment with active clinical and basic science research in vascular biology, neonatal origins of cardio-metabolic disease, neonatal ethics, and perinatal brain injury with the support of numerous federal and industry-sponsored grants. The Division has six faculty at present, including a physician-scientist.
Responsibilities for the new faculty would cover the spectrum of these activities based on qualifications. Junior and senior neonatologists are welcome. The position has excellent salary and benefits.

Minimum Requirements
Medical degree from an accredited medical school/university. Successful completion of Neonatology fellowship. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Neonatology.
Must have or be eligible for a State of Georgia Medical License, Federal DEA and NRP certiciation.
Shift/Salary
Academic rank, tenure status and salary to be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
