Basic Function

To support students, faculty, and staff within the veterinary technology department with administrative tasks.

Monday through Friday work week, 4 hours per day.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages phone calls and correspondence (email, letters, and packages); Accurately create and maintain records and databases;
Required to travel local as necessary;
Assist with special projects and events, will require occasional evenings and weekends; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including: Excel, Outlook, and Word; Must adhere to confidential expectations;
Professional and positive attitude; Desire to problem solve and constantly improve our environment to support our culture and students; Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities with the ability to successfully organize, prioritize, and manage time independently; Any other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Prior Experience in Business or Education Administration; OR combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Some college or certificate program completed.
2+ years administrative experience. Prior Experience working in a community college or public academic environment preferred. Competency in NOVA SIS/PeopleSoft databases.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of an office environment; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including: Excel, Outlook, and Word; Excellent phone techniques; Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with the public in a positive manner.
Desire to problem solve and constantly improve our environment to support our culture and students.
