Job FieldThe Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor with a specialization in Postsecondary Finance and Student Success. The appointment will commence on July 1, 2020 or shortly thereafter.

Candidates must have earned a PhD in Higher Education or a related discipline by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. We seek to recruit a scholar of higher education with demonstrated scholarly expertise in public and institutional finance as they intersect with student outcomes. Candidates are expected to have an emerging record of excellence in policy-relevant research as demonstrated by a record of high-quality publications (or publications forthcoming) in top-ranked disciplinary journals in the field of higher education, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.

Evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level is required, as demonstrated through the teaching dossier, teaching accomplishments, teaching evaluations, sample course syllabi, strong letters of reference, and other materials submitted as part of the application. Demonstrated teaching interests at the graduate level in student development and student services would be an asset.

The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. Other responsibilities of the position may include teaching in graduate programs, supervising and mentoring graduate students, service to the Department and to OISE, and working collaboratively with related units across OISE. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
