The Director develops and leads integrated, systemic University efforts in continuous improvement that support student learning and achievement, institutional and programmatic accreditation, academic planning, and operational excellence. Nurtures a culture where improvement, academic excellence, and compliance are outcomes of faculty and staff development, robust business processes, intentional connections between University and operational strategy, and provision of high UX tools/resources to University citizens. Performs other duties as assigned.


25% - Essential - Academic Accountability and Accreditation:
Works with pan-University units and personnel to identify and implement policies, resources, infrastructure, and regular business processes that support a culture and day-to-day workflow that supports operational excellence, student learning and achievement, planning, and accreditation as a continuous process. Manages the 5 and 10-year SACSCOC reaffirmation processes.

20% - Essential - Liaising:
Maintains productive relationship with and ensures centralized support and counsel is provided to a round-table of College and Libraries assessment liaisons who themselves support individual faculty and units in their program assessment and specialty accreditation. Identifies issues relevant to and seeks counsel, and concerns from the round-table on issues related to academic program planning, assessment, and specialty accreditation.

20% - Essential - Administrative:
Supervises and/or mentors, and professionally develops Assessment Coordinators and staff in the Institutional Effectiveness unit who provide support for faculty and staff regarding annual program assessment, specialty program accreditation, planning, and program reviews; administrative and academic support units in planning and continuous improvement; University centers and institutes as part of their assessment and evaluation. Ensures that the Coordinators and Liaisons have the resources and business processes needed for the University to achieve consistent excellence in these activities. Identifies and recommends solutions to resource and process challenges regarding consistent systemic academic excellence.

20% - Essential - Process Improvement:
Provides decisive informed and collaborative leadership in setting University policy and process regarding academic assessment and accreditation through continuous improvement. Serves as the key thought leader regarding continuous improvement and communicates objectives, progress and concerns to key University stakeholders (Assessment Committee, Associate Provost Ins Provost, Faculty Senate, etc).

15% - Essential - Collaboration:
Collaborates as a thought leader with a project manager; program, planning and accreditation analytics manager; and a specialist responsible for learning placements, state authorization, and academic agreements to yield an integrated high-performing team whose skills and talent will enable the Director to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.


Education - Master's Degree from an accredited institution.

Work Exp 3+ years of demonstrated experience with institutional effectiveness, or institutional or programmatic assessment, and/or accreditation.


Education - Doctoral / Professional Degree from an accredited institution with a specialization or focus on academic program assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, or faculty/staff training and development as approaches to these endeavors


Comprehensive Job Knowledge - Comprehensive knowledge of theories and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations

Manages Work of Others - Manages work of others including hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.


Education - Doctoral / Professional Degree from an accredited institution with a specialization or focus on academic program assessment, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, or faculty/staff training and development as approaches to these endeavors


5% - Overnight Travel


Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary commensurate with experience
