This position will assist in environmental health & safety activities focused on the Campus Community Forest assisting. The primary goal of the position is to identify and maintain a campus tree inventory to include species, size, and locations. This position requires personal computer and tablet knowledge and experience and ability to use web based references and guides to identify tree species. Other assigned responsibilities range from campus errands, filing, and accompanying EHS staff during safety and industrial hygiene inspections. Success will be measured by accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Participate in ongoing training and meetings as necessary
- Identify tree species in manicured areas of campus
- Distribute and download temperature and humidity data loggers
- Must be punctual and present as scheduled
- Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director, Environmental Health & Safety
- Must have a Federal Work-Study Award and be in good academic standing
- Currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
- Strong writing and grammar skills
- Ability to plan and prioritize work effectively
- Previous experience in environmental health & safety field

Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus.
