The Department of Social Work at the University of North Alabama is accepting applications for two full-time, Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professors. A Ph.D. in social work is required. Also required is an MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution, with two years of post-MSW practice experience, and experience with the CSWE accreditation process. Experience in MSW program administration and/or creation of an online MSW program is required, as is experience teaching online MSW courses. Experience in developing and supervising MSW field placement opportunities is preferred.

Duties of the position include leadership of faculty efforts associated with creation of, and initial CSWE accreditation of an MSW online program, MSW program administration, teaching graduate courses, conducting research/scholarly activities, a strong connection to social work professional/research bodies, and student mentoring/advisement responsibilities. Additional duties include maintaining office hours in accordance with University policy, serving on University-wide committees, functioning as a liaison between the Department of Social Work and the community, and performing other duties essential to the department.

Instructional areas may include graduate courses in research, human behavior in the social environment, social welfare policy, and all levels of social work practice.

Established in 1830 as LaGrange College, the University of North Alabama has a rich history including the distinction of being the first state-supported teachers college in the South.
