Position Description:
Under the general supervision of the Degree Audit Reporting System Manager, Student Affairs Information Services (SAIT), the Programmer/Analyst III will be a business operations analyst for systems in Student Affairs and for the campus, which includes moderate-to-complex systems applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions as they pertain to Student Information Systems. The business operation analyst will perform the following: (1) Conduct thorough and detailed systems analysis for moderate-to-complex campus and Student Affairs' systems. (2) Design, code and execute complex reports and queries. (3) Apply industry-wide business process and analysis practices to perform analysis, design, and create specifications (4) Elicit requirements using interviews, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business and system process analysis, task and workflow analysis, and applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. (5) Create and maintain moderate-to-complex business analysis artifacts, such as wireframes, use cases, traceability matrix, and process models, applying thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. (6) Evaluate requests for program, report, and database modifications or enhancements in Student Affairs systems and campus systems for appropriate use and in conformance with all State and Federal regulations. (7) Create appropriate data extracts and execute email campaigns. (8) Act as the primary business resource and provide oversight for moderate-to-complex web based student applications on campus with respect to functionality and overall design in Student Affairs and for the campus. (9). Provide advanced analytical support and administrative functions for the Operations unit in the Student Affairs Information Technology. (10) Advise users concerning FERPA/privacy rules and student data access and procedures, provide users with cost estimates for data processing services, and provide end-user support services. (11) Develop and run reports, queries, stored procedures, views, SSIS jobs and other SQL Server database objects for the Student Records Database databases in Student Affairs and for the campus. (12) Write and maintain precise and grammatically correct technical and systems documentation and status reports. (13) Analyze and resolve moderate-to-complex production system problems in Student Affairs systems and campus systems.
