Position Summary:

This position will provide a direct senior level management support to our Directors and supervisors within the Cytogenetics/Molecular Genetics clinical laboratory department within the Disease Prevention Division at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene .

This position is responsible for the coordination of complex daily clinical, academic, and administrative activities, as well as the coordination and organization of the faculty's communications, meeting planning, and travel. Professional communication, workplace sensitivity, and diplomacy are essential as well as excellent administrative, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills.

The responsibilities require considerable independence of planning and decision making while working with others. The incumbent is expected to utilize a considerable amount of independent initiative and judgement, exercising a high level of administrative problem solving and analytic ability.
Provide effective professional relationships with all persons doing business with the Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics.

This position tracks, prioritizes and organizes multiple ongoing projects in various stages of progress in such a way as to assist the directors and supervisors in completion of these projects. This position requires knowledge of and experience with clinical laboratories and university policies and procedures, as well as the operational details of a laboratory frequently interfacing with administrative entities. This position must show confidentiality regarding written and oral communications. Understand and support the mission of the WSLH and represent this to all contacts.

Requirements:

Typing
BA, BS, or Associate degree, preferred, not required, in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Communications, Biology, Education and/or related field.
Minimum 1-3 Years administrative work experience or relevant work experience in a University or healthcare setting
