The William & Mary School of Education invites applications for a tenure-eligible Associate Dean for Research position. The position will begin in August 2020. The role as Associate Dean for Research is 50% of the position, with the other 50% dedicated to teaching courses in quantitative research methods. The successful candidate will help to grow the School of Education’s research culture and funding base by helping faculty to develop successful research grant proposals, seeking and exploring relevant funding opportunities, developing robust connections with appropriate program officers internally and externally, and building collaborative research connections here at W&M and beyond. The successful candidate will teach foundational and/or advanced quantitative research methods courses that serve master’s and doctoral degree programs in the School of Education’s departments. The successful candidate will supervise the work of the fiscal specialist who provides support to externally funded projects.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will: (a) be eligible for a Full Professor appointment in a discipline that is appropriate to one or more programs within William & Mary’s School of Education; (b) have a nationally recognized and currently active line of inquiry in a topic related to education (e.g. K-12/Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, Higher Education, and/or Counseling/School Psychology and/or Educational Psychology); © have a strong and currently active track record of securing external research funding; (d) have experience and interest in mentoring and supporting faculty career development including the development of independent programs of research; (e) have experience developing and supporting interdisciplinary research teams; (f) have a strong record of teaching related to quantitative research methods; and (f) have excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those who: (a) have considerable experience working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams of co-researchers; (b) have appropriate college or university administrative experience; © have secured and supported field-based grants and contracts; and (d) bring currently funded research projects to our School of Education.
