Position Summary:
As a member of the Office of e-Campus Learning's Instructional Design Center (IDC), the incumbent will provide instructional design expertise for the delivery of online academic programs, specialized educational programs, faculty training and academic courses delivered via distance education and through e-learning strategies. The Instructional Designer develops courses for online delivery, trains faculty on effective use of multimedia in curriculum, provides technical support to online faculty and students, and supports the e-Campus office.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, or related discipline is required.

Master’s is preferred.

Minimum Experience:
Proficiencies in the creation of learning objects and mixed media. Experience in authoring software such as Adobe suite of products.

Strong proficiency in Windows Microsoft Office is required.

Experience with a Learning Management System such as Blackboard is required.

-Experience in Universal Design Learning principles and practices
-Knowledge of ADA compliance and web accessibility concepts
-Familiarity with various assistive learning technologies such as JAWS, Kurzwiel, closed-captioning, and cognitive assistive technologies preferable

  • Develops advanced and cost-effective instructional methodologies through the use of e-learning technologies; provides training to faculty.

  • Develops courses using course management system
  • Develops Web-based training (WBT), computer-assisted and online learning tools
  • Performs administrative functions and other duties to ensure the effective operation of the center and its projects
