Admissions and Communications Manager, Communication, Culture, and Technology Program - Georgetown University Main Campus

Communication, Culture and Technology is a Master of Arts degree and flagship interdisciplinary program at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The CCT community comprises faculty, staff, students, and alumni representing a great diversity of backgrounds, cultures, languages, passions and dreams for the future. The questions we ask and the answers we seek cover an ever-widening and endlessly fascinating expanse of inquiry.

The Admissions and Communications Manager is responsible for recruitment, admissions, event logistics, and web/print communications in the Communication, Culture, and Technology Program (CCT). S/he plans and implements measurably effective strategies for recruiting students and administers all aspects of the admissions process. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Oversees logistics for special events, ensuring that scheduling, ordering, and advertising are completed in a timely manner.
  • Actively manages the program's media placements, online presence, and website, including overall presentation, information architecture, content development, troubleshooting, optimization, and analytics, with particular concern for recruiting students and raising the program's profile. e.g., coordinate the review of applications for admissions and scholarships, communicate with prospective students, and manage open house and orientation events; track alumni information, particularly as it supports recruitment.
  • Plans and oversees logistics for special events (e.g., new student orientations, open houses for prospective and admitted students, academic events, commencement, and graduation celebratory events), ensuring that scheduling, ordering, and advertising are completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications
  • A related master's degree and some professional experience in education administration.
  • Three to four years of experience at a managerial level in admissions and academic affairs in a university setting is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of web standards and technologies, content management systems, design principles, and editing for video and audio.
  • Excellent oral, written, and personal interaction skills.
  • Ability to handle many tasks amid competing deadlines and priorities with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to initiate and implement policies.
  • Sound decision-making skills.
  • Ability to represent the program at various public events.
