To provide leadership of and strategic oversight of the recruitment unit of the college, providing essential management of the recruiting strategies for ACC credit programs and partnering with non-credit programs for successful guided entry into the college. Reflects a commitment to success equity, respect for diversity, and an understanding of culturally responsive practices.Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while adhering to organizational human resources policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and follow progressive discipline for personnel actions, up to and including recommendation of terminations for positions supervised.
  2. Provides leadership for districtwide student recruitment, incorporating market research, environmental scans, best practices, and the college strategic plan for a full-cycle recruiting process of prospective students.
  3. Plans and evaluates long- and short-term recruitment strategies and operations, including K-12 pipelines and adult student prospects within the region and management of individual and team accountability to enrollment metrics.
  4. Collaborates with other areas of the college to coordinate prospecting and recruiting activities with the goal of creating a clear path into credit programs and converting prospect contacts into successful and informed applicants.
  5. Partners with developers of the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) Recruit system to provide strategic communication to prospects, manage recruiting dashboards for successful prospect conversion, and report and analyze data for department and college-wide strategic goals.
  6. Builds and sustains strong relationships in the community, including proactively engaging with community partners and leading recruitment programs, to support guided entry in a rapidly and constantly evolving environment.
  7. Develops recruiting materials and presentations, in partnership with ACC communications and marketing personnel, to show the Austin Community College value and culture to prospective students, demonstrating that ACC promotes and delivers an equitable, inclusive, quality education.
  8. Leads unique recruitment planning to build capacity in ACC instructional areas, programs, or initiatives to support educational strategies and college enrollment goals.
  9. Manages and prioritizes recruiting team activities including high school and community event attendance, tours, Mobile Go Van schedules, and prospect nurturing.

Organizing and composing clear and comprehensive reports, correspondence, and other written communication. Speaking publicly in clear and persuasive manner, with professional public speaking materials. Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.Technology Skills

Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.Required Work Experience

  • Three years related work experience including one year supervisory experience. Education cannot be substituted for supervisory experience.
Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Education

Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.Other Preferred Qualifications

Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.Safety

ACC Benefits Overview

Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
