Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, coordinate the audit operations of the green business certification program and provide support to businesses in the certification process.

Position will assist in the implementation of the Green Business Certification program as defined in the grant-contract awarded by the CA Green Business Network and assist with program development for the education component of the Sustainability Resource Center.

Essential Functions & Qualifications
Duties:
  • Serve as the point of contact and technical assistance for businesses completing or inquiring about the green business certification process;
  • Communicate with agencies and resources to facilitate the review and completion of each component of the certification process, including energy, water, waste, and transportation,
  • Research green business standards and practices as needed to assist specific businesses comply with the certification requirements;
  • Prepare and present reports
Experience Desired:
  • Knowledge of sustainability and green business practices;
  • Knowledge of green business certification standards and practices;
  • Experience completing comprehensive Green Business Certification audits;
  • Experience assisting business complete and pass a Green Business Certification audit;
  • Experience with outreach and promotion of a service-related program or service.
Ability to:
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with program partners, sponsors, local businesses;
  • Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of all those encountered in this position.

Additional Information
This position works with the Green Business Certification Supervisor and collaborates closely with the SLO Green Business Program Steering Committee.

This is a short-term position with Cuesta College (ending on or before November 30, 2019). The assignment is for up to 20 hours per week.
