Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.
Seven years or more of experience of progressively responsible managerial experience in a Human Resources organization. Experience working in a research university environment is strongly preferred.
SPHR or PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, the Deputy Director for Human Resources will provide oversight and management of Human Resources operations and have responsibility for the delivery of human resources business processes for the university. The Deputy Director will be responsible for working with human resources senior directors and their operations and lead the development, implementation, execution and assessment of initiatives that improve the quality and efficiency of university human resources business processes. The Deputy Director will also assist the Associate Vice President for Human Resources with strategic planning for the division.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of human resources practices and policies, and federal and state employment laws. Successful track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders within a complex organization.
