Seven years or more of experience of progressively responsible managerial experience in a Human Resources organization. Experience working in a research university environment is strongly preferred.
Certifications:
SPHR or PHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, the Deputy Director for Human Resources will provide oversight and management of Human Resources operations and have responsibility for the delivery of human resources business processes for the university. The Deputy Director will be responsible for working with human resources senior directors and their operations and lead the development, implementation, execution and assessment of initiatives that improve the quality and efficiency of university human resources business processes. The Deputy Director will also assist the Associate Vice President for Human Resources with strategic planning for the division.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or CompetenciesDemonstrated experience and knowledge of human resources practices and policies, and federal and state employment laws. Successful track record of working effectively with diverse stakeholders within a complex organization. Excellent management skills and the ability to plan effectively and maximize results to meet both short and long range goals and objectives.

Duties/Responsibilities Duties/ResponsibilitiesServe as the deputy director for the division of Human Resources and a member of the division’s leadership team. The deputy director is the senior representative of AVP/HR to senior university leadership as well as University System of Georgia leadership.
