Research coordinator/community health navigator (CHN) will form part of a team that will work collegially to carry out the study protocol. The goal is to improve asthma outcomes. Duties include recruiting and retaining study participants, data collection and management, ensuring fidelity and uniformity of the intervention, and contributing to the research process with ideas and problem solving skills. The CHN must be detail and accuracy oriented as well as personable and flexible. The CHN will travel to participants' homes in low-income neighborhoods in West Philadelphia to complete research visits. He/she will also accompany patients to some medical visits. The CHN must develop and maintain good relations with busy staff in these clinical settings.
Coordinate the screening of patients, subject enrollment, collection and storage of biological samples and related study documents, and collection of clinical data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries, and assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and research related presentations. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results.
Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of related experience in research and clinical study methodologies or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
