    Network Administrator II

    St. Edward's University is seeking an energetic and collaborative Network Administrator II to join our team. In this position, the incumbent provides hands-on operation, administration and installation of the university's network electronic and cabling infrastructure components and the availability and proper maintenance of those resources. The Network Administrator II will work closely with the Digital Infrastructure Systems and Storage team to coordinate and implement changes to the network infrastructure. This person will work with The Office of Information Technology staff and the university community to assess networking requests and incidents to develop the necessary solution.

    For consideration, a Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field and/or 2-3 years hands-on experience with an enterprise network. Familiarity with Extreme network equipment preferred. Knowledge of cloud and hybrid infrastructure. Experience with virtualization, storage and related infrastructure. Has advanced knowledge and experience in operating network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless access points, and controllers and in operating network services including DNS and DHCP. Proven experience with switching and routing protocols; e.g. TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF. Proficient in problem diagnosis and resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the university community. Must have the ability to pass a criminal background check. Must possess the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
