The Department of Geography and Anthropology in the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) invites applications for a tenure-track position in biological anthropology at the rank of Assistant Professor for appointment beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year. Candidates specializing in health or medicine, broadly construed, are especially encouraged to apply. Minimum Qualifications:
 Ph.D. in anthropology or closely related fields from an accredited university at the time of appointment
 Evidence of potential for excellence in university teaching (please send teaching evaluations, if available)
 Evidence of research and scholarly potential (e.g., publications, conference presentations, grant development)
 Evidence of ability to work with and mentor a diverse student population (e.g., advising, student club involvement, independent study supervision)
 Ability to teach courses in biological anthropology and areas of specialization

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
 Specialization in anthropology of health/medicine, with bio-cultural focus
 Potential for applied focus in research and/or teaching
 Regional area of focus open
 Willingness to develop a local research project and include undergraduate students
 Willingness to conduct fieldwork or applied community projects with students
