Position Summary
Provide support for desktop computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

Duties & Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade desktop computer hardware, software and peripherals. Prepare computers utilizing imaging technology and current security and anti-virus solutions.

Monitor Help Desk ticketing system, ensure proper routing, and address Desktop Services-related tickets.

Provide support by phone, email, remote access, or campus visits.

Assist department staff with IT-related projects.

Maintain documentation/knowledgebase for users and technical staff.

Maintain hardware inventory information and prepare hardware for proper disposal.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Associate’s degree required. Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Minimum of one year of experience working with computer technology in a business environment required. Experience with Microsoft products is required. Experience with Apple products is desirable. Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management and communication skills. Must possess ability to: • Leverage one’s practical knowledge and understanding of recent technology tools, solutions, and trends to improve work results, solve work problems, and take advantage of new business opportunities. • Accomplish tasks by considering all areas involved, no matter how detailed; show concern for all aspects of the job; accurately check processes and tasks; be watchful over a period of time. • Effectively manage time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. • Achieve a satisfactory level of technical, functional, and/or professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keep up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise; leverage expert knowledge to accomplish results. • Maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment (e.g., people, processes, structure, or culture); adjust effectively to change by exploring the benefits, trying new approaches, and collaborating with others to make the change successful. • Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactive. • Set high standards of performance for self and others; assume responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-impose standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. • Demonstrate a positive attitude and approach toward work.Must embrace Mid-State’s core values of student centeredness, commitment, accountability, respect, integrity, and exceptional service.

Compensation is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
