This position works in cooperation with the campus library director, faculty and staff to provide information literacy instruction, research services, and public service functions for the College. The schedule varies depending on the overall workload within the academic year, and will include some evening and weekend shifts.

We have an immediate need at the Lancaster and Lebanon Campuses. Applications for all campuses will continue to be accepted.Classification DescriptionList the broad major functions of the position.

Takes an active role in developing and teaching information literacy, which includes assessment and collaborating with other faculty.

Provides direct research and reference assistance in-person and online.

Assists with library collection development, which includes working with faculty and staff, conducting assessments, and selecting and weeding materials.

Participates in the creation of print and online instruction materials.

Works collaboratively as a member of a team.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.

Experience with group instruction or giving presentations.

Experience or training in research and reference assistance.

Professional or paraprofessional experience working in a library.

Experience with instructional technologies and learning management systems.

Experience in library instruction in an academic library.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

Strong interpersonal skills and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body

Strong written and oral communications skills

Physical RequirementsLicensing Requirements

All HACC faculty are required to have completed the following clearances and training:
-Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
-Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
-Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Check
-Mandated Reporter Training (3 hour)
