Emerson College seeks an experienced faculty member for a full-time teaching position in our Business of Creative Enterprises (BCE) program. For students intending to become leaders in the creative industries, the Business of Creative Enterprises (BCE) major is the premiere program of its kind, founded on the principle that creativity and ideas are integral strategic components of successful businesses in the creative economy. The BCE major attracts students with a passion for arts and communication who seek careers leading and managing businesses in the creative economy. Distinct from traditional business majors or arts management programs, the BCE major prepares students to become executives, managers, thought leaders and innovators in the creative enterprises in the following, sectors and beyond: Performing Arts, Music, Film, TV, Tech, Gaming, Media, Theater, Publishing. Depending on the professional expertise or research/academic field of the candidate, this appointment may be made respectively as an Executive-in-Residence (renewable full-time contract) or Assistant Professor (tenure-track). Successful candidates will have expertise in management and business with experience teaching courses such as Business Fundamentals, Finance, Analytics, and/or Strategic Management. Program duties will also include advising students as they matriculate through the major and contributing to the overall curricular and co-curricular development of this relatively new and innovative program.

Applicants for an Executive-in-Residence appointment should have previous management experience of at least five (5) years in the creative economy. Assistant professor applicants should be able to show a record of scholarly work addressing some aspect of the creative economy commensurate with this rank. In both cases, candidates are required to show evidence of successful classroom teaching at the university level. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate professional and/or academic experience in teaching or working with diverse populations and in multicultural settings.

All successful applicants must have a minimum of a master's degree in a related field.
